You Belong With Me (Makaio's Kanye Club Mix) - Taylor Swift

This is the remix that is going viral and was featured in a Paste Magazine's web article. I took elements of a Kanye West remix of "Stronger" and an acapella version of Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" and created a remix fusing samples from both tracks as well as original composition and production work. It took me about 8 hours over two days to finish and has a video on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb5y9LgqrKo).

WELCOME TO MY MUSIC PAGE!

Aloha everybody and welcome to my music page. I was sick of my mixes and mashups getting taken off myspace and other hosting sites, so I decided to give blogger a try. I am not really a "blogger" at heart, so I won't wax too poetic on any of these posts... What I mainly want to do is share my mashups with everyone.

A mashup is, by nature, questionable in legality. It is a combination of two or more songs which I do not hold copyright to. I then mix those tracks to create a unique mix of the songs, clashing musically and legally. I do not claim responsibility for individual copyrights, but am trying to create an art form using other people's works. I still buy works from the original artists, and suggest that everyone who enjoys aspects of the mashups buy their original works. But, I see this as an artistic project, and if anyone objects to the posted material, I will take it down. But for now, let's mash it up!
